Careers

Why the work exists.

Institution exists because most companies do not need more finance providers; they need the ones they already have to work together on a shared operating record. That work only works if the people doing it care about durability and precision more than novelty.

Working principles.

Own the operating record.

The unit of work here is not a task; it is a client's operating record over time. We hire people who take that ownership seriously.

Written before verbal.

Most coordination is asynchronous. Clear writing, defensible reasoning, and retained records are the baseline, not the exception.

Judgment inside the boundary.

We are not a licensed tax or legal practice. Knowing where our work ends and a licensed professional's begins is part of the craft.

Cadence over heroics.

Predictable monthly and quarterly rhythms are what make finance operations trustworthy. We optimise for the boring version that works every time.

How roles collaborate.

Preparers

Own the recurring close for a defined set of accounts, from source collection through reconciliation and reporting.

Controllers

Review balance sheets, resolve exceptions, and sign off on the reporting pack before release.

Client leads

Own the relationship, translate operating context into request work, and coordinate professional handoffs.

Operations

Own onboarding, migration, request systems, and the tooling that keeps records durable through personnel change.

Hiring process.

  1. Step 1
    Application

A short written note on what you have owned end to end, and a résumé. No cover-letter template.

  2. Step 2
    Written exercise

One structured written response to an operating scenario. Chosen for the role, reviewed by the team you would join.

  3. Step 3
    Working conversation

A working conversation with two people on the team, based on the exercise. We talk about how you would actually run the work.

  4. Step 4
    Reference conversations

Two reference conversations, one from a former manager and one from a former peer, arranged after the working conversation.

Open roles

There are no published openings at this time.

We hire in cohorts to protect training quality. If you would like to be considered when the next cohort opens, write to us with a short note on what you have owned end to end.
