A practical fit for recurring books and business tax
Bring your entity details, current ledger, bank and card statements, last completed close and prior tax returns. Confirm the accounts, periods, filings and monthly statements covered, who reviews the books, and which questions need your approval.
A newly formed company, single-owner business, agency or online business may need different records. Entity type, revenue or funding stage alone does not establish plan eligibility or the final scope.
Ask for a broader scope when complexity changes
Multiple entities, inventory, complex revenue recognition, board schedules, a controller review or CFO modeling may need Managed Accounting or separately agreed work. Audit and attest opinions require a licensed public accounting firm.
If your priority is personal tax preparation, payroll administration, sales-tax filings or a legal opinion, confirm that specific service before relying on the bundle.
Confirm scope before starting
Institution coordinates business tax preparation and filing through an appropriately licensed tax professional. That professional prepares and signs the return and determines tax positions. Institution is not a public accounting firm. Your engagement confirms the preparer, filing scope and responsibilities before work begins.
Depending on the engagement, government fees, third-party software subscriptions and specialty add-ons may be billed separately unless expressly included.
Ongoing services generally require 30 days written notice, subject to the accepted order, engagement and mandatory rights. Monthly Tax Desk has a two-month minimum. See the Terms and Cancellation and refunds policy for stopping renewal and refunds.
State approval, bank approval and government processing times remain outside Institution's control. Read the terms and cancellation policy.
Finance Desk questions
How much does Finance Desk cost?
Finance Desk is $299/month or $2,799/year, plus state fees. Government fees, software subscriptions and specialty work can be separate unless expressly included. Compare the accepted scope and cancellation terms before choosing a billing period.Compare all published plansHow is Finance Desk different from Tax Desk?
Tax Desk supports tax and compliance for businesses that keep their own books. Finance Desk adds a dedicated US-GAAP bookkeeper, monthly and quarterly close, monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow statements, and cash-flow and burn-rate tracking. When is Managed Accounting the better option?
Consider Managed Accounting when you need full accrual-basis accounting, a dedicated accounting team, senior oversight or more complex entity and reporting requirements. It is priced by monthly business spending. Controller, CFO and specialist deliverables should be expressly scoped.Review outsourced finance responsibilitiesCan I use my existing accounting software?
Service clients can connect QuickBooks Online or Xero, or grant accountant access to existing accounting software. Software subscriptions are separate. The free Dashboard's connected accounting requires QuickBooks Online; that requirement is separate from the service team's access options. Is migration included, and what about messy historical books?
Historical data migration has no additional migration charge. Reconstructing or correcting incomplete periods is separately scoped cleanup, published at $149 / month of cleanup. Confirm the opening balances and last completed month before the recurring close begins.Use the migration checklistWho prepares and signs the tax return?
Institution coordinates business tax preparation and filing through an appropriately licensed tax professional. That professional prepares and signs the return and determines tax positions. Institution is not a public accounting firm. Your engagement confirms the preparer, filing scope and responsibilities before work begins. Are all state filings and foreign-owner forms included?
The plan lists annual state filings, but the engagement identifies actual forms, entities and jurisdictions. Additional state or city filings are $249 / jurisdiction; Form 5472 is a published $399 / owner add-on. State fees and other specialized filings may be separate. Can one plan cover several LLCs or investor reporting?
Share the entity list, ownership, intercompany activity and reporting needs first. A single advertised plan price does not establish unlimited entities or formal consolidated statements. The proposal should specify separate ledgers, group reporting, reviewers and any extra work.Review multi-entity scopeHow do onboarding and cancellation work?
There are no setup or onboarding fees. Timing depends on access and record quality. Ongoing services generally require 30 days written notice, subject to the accepted order, engagement and mandatory rights. Review the terms and refund policy before purchase.Read cancellation and refund terms
