Find and filter transactions

Search the books, narrow by account or category, open the source document, and export.

Updated 2026-10-11

Transactions lists the recorded activity in your books. Use it to answer questions such as what you spent with a vendor, or which transactions have no category yet.

Search and filters

  • Search by description, merchant, or notes.
  • Filter by account, category, direction (money in, money out, or transfers), review status, and source (with or without a source document).
  • Look for the Uncategorized category to find transactions that still need one.

Your filters and sort order are kept in the page address, so you can bookmark a view or send the link to a colleague.

Open a transaction

Select a row to open its details. You will see the original description and amount, the financial account, the category and how it was set, and the source statement it came from. Where a transaction needs confirmation, the drawer says so.

Export

You can export all transactions matching the current filters and sort order. If the data changes while the export is being prepared, the page asks you to try again.

Adding activity by hand

You can add a transaction directly. It is saved as needing review, so the team checks it. You can also import transactions from a CSV by mapping Date, Description, and Amount, or Debit and Credit columns. Duplicates are flagged.
