Institution Max categorizes most transactions without help. When something is uncertain, material, or controlled, it lands in Needs your attention instead. Open Bookkeeping, then Needs your attention to see the queue.
What you see for each item
- The transaction, with its date, description, vendor, and amount.
- Max's suggested category, with its confidence and the reason behind it.
- The source statement, so you can check the original line.
Steps
- Open an item and read the suggestion.
- Keep the suggested category, or choose a different one.
- Confirm the transaction. A message tells you it is confirmed and that Institution will complete preparer review.
- Move to the next item.
Keyboard shortcuts
When your cursor is not in a text field, press A to confirm, C to jump to the category picker, R to create a rule from this transaction, and S to skip to the next item.
If the queue is empty, the page says there are no bookkeeping exceptions. Nothing is waiting on you.
If the source does not give enough information to apply a category, the item says so. Add context in a message or upload the missing document, rather than guessing.
