Two-factor authentication asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app each time you sign in. It protects your account even if someone learns your password.
Turn it on
- Open Settings, then Security.
- Choose Set up two-factor authentication.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app on your phone.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows under Verification code, then choose Verify and enable.
A message confirms that two-factor authentication is enabled. From your next sign-in, you will be prompted for a code after your password.
Sign in with a code
After your password, the Verify your sign-in page asks for the code. If it is rejected, check that your phone's clock is correct and try the newest code. A session that sat idle may show that it expired, in which case sign in again.
Turn it off or recover access
To remove it, go to Settings, then Security and choose Remove two-factor authentication. You will be asked to verify a code first. If you no longer have your authenticator, email support@institutionhq.com for account recovery.
