What to do if you suspect unauthorized access

Steps to take right away if someone else may be in your account.

Updated 2026-10-11

If you suspect someone has accessed your account, secure your sign-in first, then review who still has access.

  1. Reset your password from the sign-in page using Forgot password. Choose one you have not used anywhere else.
  2. Turn on two-factor authentication under Settings, then Security, if it is not already on.
  3. Review your team under Settings, then Team, and remove anyone who should not have access.
  4. Email support@institutionhq.com from the address on your account and tell us what you saw and when.
Important

Tell support when you noticed the issue and describe unexpected sign-in alerts or changes. Do not include passwords, recovery codes, or full payment card numbers.
